I'm very proud to be a member of the Assistance League® of Greater San Diego (ALGSD). This local chapter of the national philanthropic organization helps provide school uniforms for some 2000 K-6 students every year, and scholarships for several students at Twain Senior High School. As an added bonus, I get to work with community-minded, selfless women of great heart who are always willing to go the extra mile to serve. Doris Chidgey and Sandy Price are two such women for whom I had the pleasure of doing headshots this past week for our Past Presidents' Wall of Fame. Thank you both for all you've done and continue to do to make ALGSD great!

What great subjects! Maria and Sam Keckler have launched a new ministry, and I had the joy of working with them last week to get headshots for them to use in promoting their business. I'll be excited to see the many directions God takes them and Vineworks Publishing and the many ways He uses their talents to mentor others. I've been working on a personal project on Portrait Lighting and decided it was time to tackle Profile Lighting. My husband, Robert, is always the lucky one to be my guinea pig for test shots and experiments. I know I test his patience as well...but I love the final shot I did of him in black & white! Thanks, Honey...I owe you...again!
Today I had the joy and privilege of taking 6 month photos for Christian Wikoren, son of Shelley and Ken Wikoren. Shelley happens to be the daughter of Mickey Tillery Hahn, one of my best friends from our days as Skyline Collegians...wow--how many years have we known each other, Mickey?!!!
Christian was so much fun and maintained an amazingly good humor through several set and costume changes! Besides being a natural charmer, he is smart, cute and lively. He delighted in showing off his "ready-to-crawl" skills, and found great pleasure in beating on the tub and climbing on the basket! I can't wait to see what new tricks he'll be up to next time we take his pictures! Thank you, Shelley, for a very fun morning!

After a delay because my Dad had a fall that resulted in two broken ribs, the day before I was scheduled to go to Tacoma, I finally got to make my trip down to the "Buffalo Soldiers Museum" to take some photos of Jackie Jones-Hook, who is opening the museum to honor her father's legacy as a Buffalo Soldier. This was very educational for me and I felt like I was having a personal "Black History Month" experience! Among other things, Jackie shared a video about the Buffalo Soldiers, narrated by such notables as Morgan Freeman, Colin Powell and Halle Berry. Very moving!
